ToughSonic® Ultrasonic Sensors

These rugged, compact ultrasonic sensors inspired the “ToughSonic®” name. They are our flagship products. The type 316 stainless steel housings, full epoxy potting, heavy duty electronics, permanently attached cables and ruggedized ultrasonic sensors in stainless steel housingspiezoelectric transducers allow them to operate where lesser sensors wouldn’t stand a chance. Toughsonic sensors can be found on remote monitoring stations from the Australian outback to Alaskan oil fields. They are installed on heavy construction and farm equipment, and in some of the harshest factory environments there are. When an ordinary ultrasonic sensor just won’t hold up, you need a ToughSonic sensor.

These are also our most versatile ultrasonic sensors. You can configure powerful extended features using SenixVIEW software (included with any sensor) or use the “Teach” button for in situ adjustments. Several fully configurable and simultaneous outputs are provided, including serial data (RS-232 or RS-485, by model), analog (0-10 VDC and 4-20 mA) and switches (configurable as sinking or sourcing). Groups of sensors can be synchronized to prevent mutual interference, or up to 32 RS-485 models can be used in a multi-drop addressable network using the Modbus protocol – all standard features. We call these sensors “general purpose” because they have the configurability and ruggedness to solve almost any non-contact sensing challenge.

Senix also offers ToughSonic ruggedness in a sealed, chemically-resistant housing. Please compare our entire ultrasonic sensor product line to find the right sensor for your application.

Customization Options Available:

  • Pre-loaded parameter configuration and calibration for volume applications.
  • Alternative cables, lengths and connectors.
